As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless special moments, but my Asbury Park wedding with Alyssa and Owen stands out as one of the most memorable. Here is a really cool rundown of how we ran into Jenny Yoo on their wedding day.

Alyssa and Owen are an awesome couple. They are cool and calm, and always ready to have a good time. We chose the Asbury Park Boardwalk for their couples portraits, a perfect blend of classic Asbury charm and seaside beauty. Alyssa’s dress was the perfect mix of simple and chic.

While we were in the midst of taking portraits, we noticed another photoshoot happening near the Convention Hall. A group of models posed elegantly, but I didn’t really think anything of it. As we continued our shoot, a woman approached us. She seemed intrigued by Alyssa’s stunning wedding dress.

With a warm smile, the woman introduced herself to Alyssa. To our astonishment, she WAS Jenny Yoo, the renowned bridal designer. She recognized Alyssa’s dress as HER OWN, an original Jenny Yoo creation. The excitement was unreal! Alyssa beamed, and Owen couldn’t stop smiling. To be honest, Owen was maybe more excited than Alyssa, and it was super sweet.

Meeting Jenny Yoo herself while the bride wore her dress felt like a once-in-a-lifetime moment. It was incredible to witness such a coincidence unfold right before our eyes. The serendipity added an extra layer of magic to an already great day. It emphasized the magic of not only choosing, but wearing a wedding dress.

We took a few moments to chat, and of course, we captured some photos of Alyssa with her new friend Jenny Yoo. It was a reminder of how small and wonderfully interconnected the world can be, especially in moments of joy and celebration.
